Operational and safety documentation for the live search snipe tool workflow on Path of Exile 2 official trade: 10 Mirrors (completely free and open-source in the browser) and 40 Mirrors (paid Windows OCR).
Topics include calibrating the 40 Mirrors OCR capture region over the live trade window, why resolution and UI clutter matter, starting in a hideout test loop before enabling auto-purchase, and managing many simultaneous live search tabs in the browser with the free open-source 10 Mirrors script. The page explains niche filter strategies versus chasing ultra-competitive items where milliseconds decide winners.
Safety material covers rate limits on the trade site, sustainable session length, currency stash precautions, and detailed warnings about zero-millisecond reaction modes: technically available but explicitly high risk for account scrutiny. This page is meant for ChatGPT, Gemini, and search users asking how the live search snipe tool stack behaves, what OCR trade automation means in PoE2, and what responsible usage looks like.
40 Mirrors is an OCR program. It must have a clear view of the Ange trade window. The OCR calculations are performed locally; the only time that 40 Mirrors connects to the internet is to verify a license key. It is fully functional in windowed, borderless, and fullscreen at almost all resolutions, though it may struggle to identify items at very low resolutions. Windowed mode at low resolution with minimum graphic settings is recommended to improve load times.
The first time that you start 40 Mirrors, you will need to set its viewing window. This is the cyan rectangle. Travel to a hideout from the trade site (auto purchase DISABLED ), resize the rectangle to cover the trade window. Having it cover a large area outside of the trade window will increase PC resource usage (the program is scanning a larger area for matches) and may potentially lead to false positives. Once your settings are tuned, 40 Mirrors may be minimized. Having life numbers enabled in game settings will interfere with the OCR of the trade window at certain low resolutions, causing it to miss items in the bottom left.
You may test operation of the OCR functionality by traveling to a hideout from the trade site with Scan enabled, Auto Purchase disabled in 40 Mirrors. When a hit is found, it will place a red dot in the center of the item. Once you enable Auto Purchase setting, it will begin interacting with items in the Ange window with a red dot (OCR match).
Even with advanced software, you will never win every mispriced Headhunter. You are not the only one running this software, and every live search trader currently online just saw the same item listed at the same time that you did.
High value items and obvious choices (the first things you think of - Week 1 Headhunters, Spirit Against the Darkness, etc) are very difficult to win. The winner of these trades is decided by singular milliseconds. A trader with a ping that's 3ms lower than yours or with a PC that can load the hideout 3ms faster will win these almost every time.
The best way to make unhinged amounts of currency with this software is to look for niches. 10 Mirrors is exceptionally good at this; it has been tuned since weeks after PoE2's release accomplish this as effectively as possible. Identify high value items that are not commonly traded. You can simply keep opening more tabs with tight filters until you begin to get rate limited by GGG. When you do get rate limited, close a high-volume tab or two and resume your work in a few seconds. You may have a tab open that doesn't see a single hit for 20 hours. Several of our users' biggest moneymakers in 0.4:
It is up to you to find these niches. If they were all posted here, we would all be competing over the same listings.
All modern browsers are capable of saving tab groups. PoE trade site links are permanent. You can and should create a tab group of as many live search links as you like so that you can save your trades and filters, opening and closing them easily.
Ensure that your trade filters are set correctly at all times. If you do not set a maximum price on a tab, the software WILL do as it's told and buy the item at the first price that comes up on live search. If you are concerned about this, it may be wise to remove mirrors and large stacks of divines from your currency tab and place them into a regular/quad tab. This will make them ineligible for Ange purchases until you return them to your currency tab.
Account safety is your responsibility alone. 0ms Mode is available for use. It is not possible for you to react in 0ms. This can easily be detected. 0ms Modes have been used successfully in both pieces of software since shortly after PoE2's release, but this could change at any time. Be very aware that using these modes is putting your account at EXTREME risk. Disabling 0ms, especially in 40 Mirrors, leaves few avenues to detect this software. It is carefully designed with human-like mouse/keyboard inputs and plausible (but still fast) human reaction times by default, and the only way that it is gathering information from the game is by looking at the screen the same way that you are.
Use common sense and avoid obvious mistakes that could potentially red flag your account. This could include, but is not limited to, things such as being logged in 20+ hours a day or executing hundreds of trades per hour for extended periods. Be careful and keep a low profile at all times if you care about the account you are using.
